Owerri West Community Association (UK) yesterday in London hosted Chief Roger Nwoke, the PDP candidate for Owerri West House of Assembly.
Speaking at the event the interim Chairman of the Association Chief Dozie Onyeanunu thanked Chief Nwoke for honouring the Association’s invitation despite the short notice given to him coupled with his crowded prearranged activities in the United Kingdom.
Owerri West is a great LGA. And we the indigenes who live outside the shores of our communities have always taken interest in what happens back home especially politics. And we support candidates who are genuine in their words and deed.
And, I can proudly tell all of us here today that Chief Rogers Nwoke is a genuine, reliable and trustworthy son of Owerri West and we the members of Owerri West Community Association UK have no qualms in supporting him, Chief Onyeanuna said.
Let me add here also that, as a banker, Chief Nwoke is second-to-none. He brings a touch of class and professionalism in whatever he does and there is no doubt that he will be a fantastic Member of the House and will also facilitate the transformation of Owerri West for good if he wins.
In his speech, Chief Rogers thanked the Association for hosting him and promised to work flat-out for the people of Owerri West if he wins in the forthcoming general election in 2023.
Frankly speaking, I have tremendous respect for our people who live in the UK. You my brothers and sisters who live here are extremely hardworking. You are here working day-in, day-out to pay your numerous bills and still take superlative care of your families and extended families back home.
From the bottom of my heart, I wholeheartedly say a thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us back home especially now that things are very hard and families are finding it difficult to eat even regular food back home,
I have come here today to solicit for your support and my promise to the people of Owerri West is superb representation, accessibility with Constituency office and ward offices to match if given the mandate by the people, Chief Nwoke said.
Those present at the impromptu event include Chief Dozie Onyeanuna, Chief George Okoro, Mr Nath Nnadi, Okenze Sam Asoluka and many others.
