MALICIOUS BROADCAST AGAINST MY PERSON-CHIEF ENGR. DR. E.C IWUANYANWU CFR, OFR, MFR, GCSI, FNICE, FNSE, FNIIE, FNIST, KSC (AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO)

On 3rd June, 2022, my attention was drawn to a broadcast on YouTube where i was very maliciously libelled. The speaker alleged that i had said that Igbos should wait until 2027 for the Presidency. The person further threatened me not to come to Biafra Land as Unknown Gunmen have banned me from coming to Igboland.

I want to state categorically that I did not at anytime make such statement. On the contrary, i am the Chairman of Council of Elders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and i have always strongly advocated that Igbos should be given Our right in Nigeria, including producing the President of Nigeria in 2023. It is also on record that i have always expressed this view in several meetings and Press Statements.

At the moment, some of the political parties have not done their primaries and some parties have already nominated Igbos as their Presidential Candidates. Even APC which is the ruling Political Party has not held their National Convention and we hope that APC in the spirit of fairness will nominate an Igbo person as their Presidential Candidate.

All through my life, I have made sacrifices both in times of peace and war. As a young man, i laid down my life in defence of Igbos. I have also contributed substantially in the development of Igbo land and other parts of Nigeria in terms of human development, education, youth empowerment, infrastructural development, support to the medical sector, etc, etc. Ironically, now that I am old and fragile, a young Igbo man instead of treating me with respect and honour which I rightfully deserve, is threatening me with death and banishment from my Homeland-Igbo Land.

I was raised in a Christian family, and i believe strongly in Divine Providence. I therefore put my trust completely in God.

I have severally as the Chairman Council of Elders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo expressed my appreciation to many Nigerians who have supported that the Igbos should produce the next President of Nigeria; such persons include Chief Edwin Clark, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Former President of Nigeria His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Bishop Matthew Kuka, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai and many other patriotic Nigerians. I regard these Nigerians as Heroes and Heroines of a new Nigeria where justice, truth and equity will prevail as a supreme virtue.

Igbos supported all other zones to be President, i still believe that the remaining political parties in their respective conventions will nominate Igbo candidates and after they have been so nominated, Nigerians will decide who is the best Igbo candidate for the Presidency.
