In continuation of their Town Hall meeting with Igbo Communities and Organizations in the United Kingdom, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo UK, led by the Chairman Dr. Nnanna Igwe, yesterday met with Imo State Union of Elders in Wood Green, North London.

Addressing the Distinguished Elders at the meeting, Dr. Igwe said Ndi-Igbo is facing a very hard time in Nigeria and there is need now for all hands to be on deck. He emphasized on the need for unity amongst Igbo Communities and Organization in the United Kingdom.

As we probably know, Ndi-Igbo as Nation is passing through challenges in and outside Nigeria. But the challenges are surmountable because we are very resourceful. Ndi-Igbo have the resources and energy to surmount our problems but we cannot overcome our challenges easily if, as a people, we are not united. I am very impressed with the calibre of members of Imo State Union of Elders, UK. This Union is a very good example of what we can achieve as a people if we are united, he said.

He further remarked that since the last six weeks, they have visited many parts of the UK where Ndi-Igbo reside. We have embarked on these visits to know and listen to our Communities, Organizations and to let them know about the fantastic work Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo UK has been doing and what they want us to do. Above all, we enjoin every one of us, our Communities and Organizations to be part and parcel of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, UK.

Dr. Igwe appealed to Imo Elders Union UK to be in the forefront of uniting Igbo Communities in the UK as their Chairman, Elder Adolph Agbasonu is a Member of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, UK Consultative Council and the Union is also a registered Member of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, UK.

In his address, the Chairman of Imo State Union of Elders, Elder Adolph Agbasonu thanked Dr. Igwe on behalf of the Union for the wonderful work Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo UK is doing. Elder Agbasonu said the Elders Union is a formidable group and chock-full of people with experiences from different walks of life. He then assured Dr. Igwe that the Members are ever ready and willing to work with Ohanaeze UK for the betterment of Ndi-Igbo.
