ATIKU LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (ALDI) INAUGURATED IN THE UK
By Sam Asoluka
Atiku Leadership Development Initiative (ALDI) has been successfully launched in London, United Kingdom.
Speaking at the event the Director General of the Organisation Honourable Okey Dominic Nwuzor said ALDI is a frontline support group of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The group is a special Organisation that takes the lead and others follow. He said ALDI has been inaugurated in Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa States. And the other States in Nigeria are ‘loading’.
He said His Excellency, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku’s Campaign Organization-Atiku Political Campaign Organization (APCO) led by the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels, recognises and takes ALDI seriously.
We decided to call the Diaspora today because Nigerians living and working here in the UK are contributing immensely to the growth of our country’s GDP back home. Most of you here are the ones taking care of your families and it’s not easy, Mr Nwuzor said.
‘We carefully select the people that join ALDI. We don’t rent a crowd. We are looking at an Association that will stand the test of time. We believe in content. And, in life, the strong survive and the wise excel. So, it’s not a matter of going through a state and within one minute we are off without leaving some solid prints there’.
‘We are about some days before the Presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party. I will like to tell you about three things that I really like about Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He’s Credible. He’s Competent. And he has the capacity to lead. If you can create wealth, you can manage wealth. If you are compassionate, your followers will be passionate. He (Alhaji Atiku Abubakar) as an individual, has created over fifty thousand jobs and over two hundred and fifty-three thousand indirect jobs. Everything I see Atiku touched, turns to gold’.
Mr Nwuzor further told his audience that Alhaji Atiku has promised that if given the mandate to serve, he will create jobs for the youths in Nigeria. He has promised that his government will also have 40% of youths and 30% of women inclusive. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the only man in Nigeria that has a Micro Finance Bank that gives interest-free loans to women.
‘In Nigeria today, we have a total disconnect and no respect for the rule of law. Why? It’s because the leaders we have had in the past had not taken leadership in the direction that the people will feel it. And that is why Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is championing for the restructuring of the country’.
And, what is restructuring? It is giving power back to the people. That’s what democracy is all about. The government of the people, by the people and for the people. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will make sure that there is security in the land. And by the Special Grace of God, if we work hard together, we can make Nigeria work again.
In his speech, the Diaspora Director of ALDI, Dr Wilson Diriwari thanked the Director-General of ALDI, Honourable Okechukwu Nwuzor for the opportunity given him to serve other Nigerians in Diaspora. He said Alhaji Atiku is a visionary leader and appealed to Nigerians in Diaspora to key into Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s vision of a better Nigeria.
On his appointment, he said ‘position does not matter, I am not the type of person who believes in positions, I believe in action. I believe in performing because if you perform, you will be taken to a greater height. It’s all working together as a team and you must be ready to serve’.
The Director-General of ALDI presented Certificates of recognition to UK Executive Officer.
