True to his words and like an invading army Chief Emeka Morocco Maduka, literally conquered the United Kingdom with his Ekpili music. The highlife legend distinctively gave a good account of himself in his UK tour, thereby proving once again that he is the Authentic Ekpili Music Evangelist.

On stage Chief Morocco was not only awesome he also conquered the environment. His voice was as golden as ever and his lyrics were heart-warming to say the least. Morocco’s music cut across all ages and no wonder those who were opportuned to attend the show seemed like a roll call of who’s who in the Igbo Community in London, all dressed tastefully and splendidly for the Ekpili crusade which took place in Tottenham, London.

Chief Dr Morocco Maduka did not start or invent Egwu Ekpili. But he has done more than anybody in the same line of music to promote Ekpili Music in Nigeria and internationally. His first Album titled AGHA NIGERIA was released  in 1971. And to his credit, he has recorded over 78 chart-topping albums. Some of the album are: Ochuba Aku, Ubanesse, Amuru Onye N’Ego, Nke Onye Metalu, Ozogidigbam, Uwa Ekwe Nmeta, Ome Nma, Eze Udene, Olu Oma Nwelugwo, tribute to Odumegwu Ojukwu and so on.

Dr Morocco Maduka, has now laid to rest the notion that Ekpili music is about folklore and Praise-singing. Ekpili music is much more deeper and rich in meaning than any other type of music.  Ekpili music is about Nature, Love, Humility, Wisdom, Courage, Leadership, Greatness and so on, rolled into music

 

Chief Dr Emeka Morocco Maduka singer/songwriter is a loving husband, father, grandfather, Uncle. He is also the President of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), south East Nigeria Chapter.
