This morning, you announced on Twitter that you would seek a second term in February 2019 Nigeria’s Presidential election. You are 75 years old. By 2019, you will be 76, thus, become the oldest Nigerian president, if elected ( or selected).
Three years ago, I declared my support for you because Nigeria needed to be rescued from threats to our national security by Islamist terror group, Boko Haram and brazen corruption under then President Goodluck Jonathan. Baba, you were the available option. I wanted Jonathan and his thieves’ corporation to get out of our lives by all legal means necessary. I endorsed and campaigned fiercely for you. I believed in you. You were a disciplined man. You gave us direction. You were profound, passionate patriot. You loved Nigeria and your campaign ideas and goals were forward. You were simple and pragmatic. I followed you. In following, I discovered a lot of things about you that attracted me, more, to your lifestyle and dedication to serving my country: at 72, you were a darling to young Nigerians in the belly of our beasts, led by carnivorous Goodluck Jonathan who mortgaged our lives to festival of corruption and lootings of our commonwealth.
Our despair turned hope when over 20Million Nigerians massively elected you in one of the most significant free and fair elections in the continent of Africa. Nigerians chose good over Evil. Since your election , you have faced challenges of prosecuting past corrupt politicians. and your health. Corruption fought back. Your health deteriorated.
For nearly one year, your administration was without cabinet Ministers: you stayed out of the country to treat your ailing health. When you returned from your treatments in Obodo oyibo, sir, you became a shadow of an old soldier. An old soldier never dies. But we saw the scars of damages to your health by sickness. Sir, you have become a moron, affected by your severe illness and aggressive treatments. Your mind is out of your body. Your body and looks are temples of exhaustion and fatigue. You are no longer the strong, healthy skinny and energetic survivor of the rigorous campaigns. Your body needs rest, at 75. I am not a doctor. But age and time are no longer your best friend. Baba, I see what those around you are seeing but perhaps, afraid to tell you: the truth. Sadly, they have prepped and decorated you because they want you to run again. You accepted. You are a robot, controlled and marginalized by certain cabal and interest groups. Baba, your health should be above your desire to serve, again. You are a sick old man. Nigeria is a risky business. You do not have the stamina and energy to run things, anymore. You are weak and weary. You barely remember anything. Your mind is slowly exiting your body. These times, your mind is a terrible thing to waste on Nigeria’s complex political culture. Its time you retired to Daura and lived happily ever after. We will eternally remain grateful that you served, unblemished. I urged you to leave earlier. I also stated that I would not support any attempt for a second term. Baba, I mean what I write. I write what I mean. Your wife, children and grandchildren desire your time in these times of your life. 76! Nor be small beans. Haba, Baba…..
This morning, you chose the voice of greedy manipulators and institutionalized politicians over the voice of reason: the voice of the people. You said you would run again. Baba, I will not support you on this one. I love and admire you. I will continue to respect you until the end time. But I think, its time I said farewell and goodbye to our relationship. I will campaign against you.
