The Member representing Imo West Senatorial District, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu has died.

Senator Uwajumogu was said to have slumped in the bathroom while taking his bath and was rushed to a private hospital in Apo, Abuja where he was confirmed dead.

Mr. Uwajumogu, before his death, was a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a source, he was initially treated in the United Arab Emirates for his protracted illness but returned to Abuja recently after showing signs of recovery.

Senator Uwajumogu had a few years ago undergone very complicated heart surgery.
