Ohanaeze Ndigbo Uk is deeply saddened by the terrible and shocking killings of Ndigbo by Herdsmen resurgent in Enugu State in the last few days. This is a disturbing development and worrisome state of affairs. 

 

Enugu State and the South East Nigeria have been peaceful and law-abiding citizens. 

 

The election is over and our elected leaders must work together to decisively stamp out herdsmen menace, insecurity and kidnapping in the South East and Nigeria at large. Igbo lives matter must be the first consideration for all our Governors and all our leaders. 

 

The holistic development of the South East of Nigeria must be vigorously and jointly pursued by the Governors and all Government functionaries. 

 

We appeal to Ohanaeze Worldwide, South East Governors, legislators, Judiciary, Traditional Rulers, Captains of Industries, Academicians, All Igbo Unions, Businessmen and Women, Igbo Youth, IPOB and all Ndigbo to work together to STOP the incessant and unprovoked killings of Ndigbo in the hometowns and villages. We can do it, anyi zuru ka emee umu Igbo. 

 

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Uk naju ajuju nasi ‘agbaa mbu otu na ogwee, a gbaa ibuaa otu na ogwe, umu Igbo obuzi ogwee ka apiri aku? The big question is why should Ndigbo be killed even in their own villages? What is the Federal Government doing to STOP this unwarranted and senseless killing of Ndigbo? How long will the killings go on umu ibe? 

 

We shed tears for our people and feel the pains of the helpless umu Igbo being massacred in this dastardly barbarism. The time to act is now!! A stitch in time saves nine!! Ukpana Okpoko gburu bu ntii chiri ya.

 

Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK expresses our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed and prays for the repose of their gentle Soul in Heaven. Ozo emezina umu Igbo.
