TO SHARPEN THE SOCIO-POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS IN IMO STATE, ‘OWERRI ZONE FORUM UK’ COMES ON STREAM WITH FRESH IDEAS
After due consultations, the people of Owerri Senatorial Zone, Imo State, Nigeria, living in the United Kingdom, announce with pleasure, the formation of Owerri Zone Forum, UK. The Forum is a Political, Economic and Socio-Cultural Organisation for the development of Owerri Senatorial Zone, comprising the nine Local Government Areas namely: Aboh Mbaise, Owerri Municipal, Ahiazu Mbaise, Owerri West, Ikeduru, Owerri North, Ngor-Okpala, Ezinihitte Mbaise, and Mbaitoli.
As we all may know, for a very long time now, Owerri Zone and her people have seen or witnessed wholesale or unabridged economic decay and political emasculation despite the hard work of the various communities and abundant resources therein, hence the formation of Owerri Zone Forum.
As the seat of the Government of Imo State and the Zone that gives succour and home to all Nigerians irrespective of their tribe, the Forum will, therefore, work in collaboration with the other zones in the state to ameliorate the deplorable economic, environment and political conditions of the zone.
Members of the Forum are indigenes of the zone who have creditably excelled in their lines of professions and with the mission to re-sharpen the political and Socio-cultural structure and restore the dignity of the people and the enviable glory of Owerri Zone.
And, with their expertise and membership of different International bodies, the members are ready and willing to pursue the Economic development of the Zone by deploying their International contacts and building bridges with Foreign Investors who want to invest in the Zone.
The group, therefore, appealed to the good people of Owerri Zone to co-operate and support the Objectives of the forum
The following members and others were appointed to run the affairs of the Forum in the interim: Mr Enyinna Amadikwa, President; Mr Edwin Ajoku, General Secretary; Mr Charles Anyanwu, Director of Media & Strategy.
