In a seeming bid to reward integrity, accountability and probity in public service, the speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has been elected into the executive council of the conference of Nigeria Speaker’s as its financial secretary.

The conference of Nigeria Speakers is a body made up of speakers of the 36 state Houses of Assembly across the Country.

In a meeting held recently in Abuja the body which stated that the sole choice of the Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, was sequel to his prudent management of resource available to the Imo State House of Assembly also maintained their solid optimism that the speaker would replicate the same managerial feat at the forum of Nigeria speakers.

Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, while acknowledging the honour done to him by his colleagues, described governance as the explicit service to the people, pointing out that the new task accorded him by his colleagues would spur him into bringing his ingenuity to bear for the betterment of the state and the country.

The speaker’s forum also elected Rt. Hon. Samuel Ikon of the Akwa-Ibom state House of Assembly as its chairman.
