CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO THE EKWUEME FAMILY ON THE DEATH OF H.E DR ALEX IFENAYICHUKWU EKWUEME – IDE OF OKO, GCON  (21 October 1932 – 18 November 2017)

The Igbo Council (CIC UK) expressed sadness on the passing of our Great Igbo and Political Leader Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme – Ide of Oko and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

The Igbo Council join Ndigbo and the entire nation to mourn the passing of one of Nigeria’s most illustrious sons, H.E. Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Nigerian first elected Vice-President.

Nigeria and Ndigbo, in particular, have lost a great man of integrity and character. He was a national figure that represented Nigeria in various international assignments. He was a true son of Ndigbo and a great leader.

He will be dearly missed. We pray that God will grant his family the strength to cope with this monumental loss.
