IWUANYANWU APPEALS TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO SHEATH THEIR SWORDS, URGES FG TO IMPLEMENT THEIR DEMANDS

The Grand Patron of virtually all Nigerian Youth Organisations in the Country, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has appealed to Nigerian Youths to suspend the ongoing protests across the Federation.

Chief Iwuanyanwu who was addressing newsmen in Imo State capital Owerri called on the Federal Government to urgently implement the demands of the Youths. Chief Iwuanyanwu commended the brevity of the youths for making history in the past few weeks by being able to do what the Elders were unable to do.

The Nigerian Youths Patron observed that the youths courageously and boldly confronted the problems of insult, brutality, neglect and injustice Nigerian youths and majority of Nigerians have suffered in the country.

Chief Iwuanyanwu said that what impressed the whole country and the Free World is that the Youths carried out their demonstration in a very civilised and peaceful manner devoid of any violence or bloodshed.

He said that all men of good conscience in Nigeria and indeed the whole world have seen that by this act, Nigerian youths comprised men and women who are amply qualified intellectually and morally can take up leadership not only in Nigeria, but in any part of the Free World.

Chief Iwuanyanwu noted that Nigerian Youths have over the years shown him love and respect to him by making him their Patron and Grand Patron enjoined them to heed his appeal. He pointed out that over the years he has on several occasions raised his deep concerns on the magnitude of large youth unemployment and also harsh business environment for those of them who want to go into private enterprise.

The Elder Statesman said that by this demonstration, Nigerian youths have taken the first step right step. He said that from all he has observed in the electronic and print media, the Federal Government has openly acknowledged that they have failed the Youths and have also apologised and promised to take every step to remedy the situation.

Chief Iwuanyanwu however regretted that events in the past few days where innocent people are being killed, Institutions are being burnt and vandalised by hoodlums have been very unfortunate.

The Youth friendly Philanthropist maintained that these atrocious acts were not perpetrated by the Nigerian Youths but by hoodlums who infiltrated the peaceful protests.

Chief Iwuanyanwu appealed to the Youths to seriously consider calling off the demonstration and give government time to implement their demands.

He expressed fears that if the situation is not arrested, Nigeria will be plunged into chaos and confusion which will create more hardship, suffering and bloodshed for the people.
