GOVERNOR IHEDIOHA APPOINTS VISITATION PANEL FOR IMO STATE POLYTECHNIC.

PRESS RELEASE 

Governor Emeka Ihedioha CON has approved the constitution of a Visitation Panel for Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo. 

The panel is composed of the following:

1. Prof. Eugene Opara – Chairman 

2. Prof. Martin I. Nwafo – Member 

3. Prof. Poly Chigbu – Member 

4. Dr. Mrs. Regina Amadi – Member 

5. Dr. Felicia Anyanwu – Member 

6. Mr. Robert Akujuobi – Member 

7. Ms. Ifeyinwa Okafor – Member 

8. Nwoko Ikedichi Sabinus – Member 

9. Mr. Nnaemeka Nnoromele – Secretary

Terms of Reference:

i. To identify the strength and problems of the Polytechnic and make appropriate recommendations to the Visitor;

ii. To ascertain the operations of all Faculties, Departments, Units, Directorates, including, Students’ Affairs, Academic Planning, Works, ICT, Continuing Education Programme, Procurement and other issues, such as Cliqueism and Cultism;

iii. To ascertain the operations of the Polytechnic and investigate students’ complaints bothering on various issues;

iv. To conduct audit of the Polytechnic’s revenue and expenditure, including the Bursary Department, aimed at ascertaining the financial status from 2012, including Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Polytechnic Micro Finance Bank and come up with a comprehensive report;

v. To investigate award of contracts in the Polytechnic and ascertain if due process was adhered to, in line with the Procurement Law;

vi. To investigate state of infrastructure, including collapsed or collapsing buildings;

vii. To ascertain the welfare of students investigate allegations of sexual abuse, extortion, issues bothering on the allocation of hostel, substandard books, hangouts, SUG election, and illegal payments.

viii. To make any other recommendation(s) on issues not listed in the Terms of Reference but necessary for the smooth running of the Polytechnic 

Inauguration of members of the panel holds today, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 by 1pm at the Expanded Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri.
